Biosketch and Research Interests
Sheridan studied at the University of the West Indies Mona Campus in Jamaica, where he attained a Bachelor of Basic Medical Science Degree in Pharmacology. For his final year thesis he studied the effect of an indigenous Barbadian Medicinal Plant against microorganisms associated with diabetic wound infection. After completing his degree, in May 2011, he attended the Vanderbilt International Summer Research Academy, working in the Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Epidemiology Division on a project with regards to CYP450 Drug Metabolism and Breast Cancer.
In the Conn lab he will perform various in-vitro GPCR assays of compounds, in support of multiple ongoing projects.
His interests are in the field of drug discovery, and translational medicine. He plans to pursue a career either in industry or academia.
